  1. A Kaleidoscope of Creativity and Color Art Exhibit

    July 30, 11:00 AM - August 30, 6:00 PM @ Artworks@7th Fine Art & Unique Gifts

    August at Artworks@7th will feature a “Collidescope” of creativity and color as a trio of our talented artists present their latest works. Jen Poteet, Mickey Kunkle, and Diana Manchak will combine their varied and unique artistry to present a show that will provide a little something for everyone. From imaginative and inspired watercolors by Jen; to the bright, bold, and colorful jewelry pieces created by Mickey; to Diana’s pottery works that can be functional or decorative with each piece having a distinct and unique personality, the exhibit will delight and you just might find that one-of-a-kind piece that you’d been looking for. The show will be up July 30th through August 30th.

  2. Calvert County Farmers Market - Barstow

    August 29, 7:30 AM - 12:00 PM @ Calvert County Fairgrounds

    Eating fresh and eating local is made easy with farmers markets open throughout the county.

  3. Lighthouse Adventure Cruise: Southern Bay

    August 29, 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM @ Calvert Marine Museum

    Lighthouse lovers are welcome for a day-long adventure aboard a private charter boat. Visit Point No Point, Point Lookout and Smith Point Lighthouses - before stopping for lunch on Smith Island. After taking in the local sites, the cruise will continue on to circle Solomons Lump and Hooper Island Lighthouses.

  4. Indian Village Demonstrations

    August 29, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum (JPPM)

    Spend Saturday exploring the Indian Village at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum. Join staff as they explain native life of Woodland Indians. Weekly demonstrations include flintknapping and fire making.

  5. Lore Oyster House Day

    August 29, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Lore Oyster House

    Stop by the J.C. Lore Oyster House in Solomons for on-going activities both in the oyster house and out on the dock. Try your hand at oyster tonging; learn to tie a towline and coil a rope; measure oysters and follow the path an oyster takes through the processing house from the loading dock to the shipping room. Learn about oyster anatomy with our giant soft sculpture oyster, Rock-E-Feller. Admission is free to the Oyster House.

  6. Public Sail Aboard the Dee of St. Mary's

    August 29, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Calvert Marine Museum

    Experience the Patuxent River like never before! The Calvert Marine Museum is offering two-hour Public Sails from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. aboard the historic skipjack Dee of St. Mary’s. Cruises depart from the CMM dock on Saturdays, August 29, and September 19. Tickets are $15 for ages 8 – 12, 13 and older are $25. No children under 8 are permitted.   7. Monday Memories House and Garden Tours

    August 31, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum (JPPM)

    Share memories of Calvert County, the Patterson Family, JPPM or those who may have once worked this land. If you do not have a story to share, come listen to the memories of others all while enjoying a tour of the beautiful Point Farm house. The tours are free and open to the public ages 10+.
