  1. Artworks@7th Photo-Art Show: "In case you missed..."

    July 3, 12:00 PM - July 28, 7:00 PM @ Artworks@7th Fine Art & Unique Gifts

    The photography of John J. Young is July’s featured exhibit at Artworks@7th. The show is titled “In case you missed…,” and consists of high and low concept photo-art images intended to show an appreciation of the various sites, scenes, people, and inspiring moments that happen every day. From a street performer dancing to music that only he can hear; to a pair of osprey enjoying a North Beach sunrise; to an evening view of the US Capitol surrounded by a blanket of snow; the images presented, in both color and black and white, are sure to interest and entertain. Come join us for the show’s opening reception on Saturday, July 5th, from 1 - 5 p.m. – it’s free! If you can’t make the reception, then come by any other time during our normal business hours, the show will be up July 3rd thru the 28th.

  6. North Beach Friday Night Farmers' Market, Classic Car Cruise-In and Art Fair

Classic car enthusiasts can enjoy viewing some of the coolest vehicles in the area at the Classic Car Cruise-In. The vision of the NB Art Fair is to promote a vibrant art culture through the support of passionate artists who locally design and produce creative and unique art. The NB Art Fair’s program helps community-based artists and art organizations make locally produced art available to community residents and visitors.

  8. Cane Pole Fishing

    July 26, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM @ Hutchins Pond

    Come to Hutchins pond where we will teach you how to make a cane pole and use one. We will fish for bluegill, bass and trout. (Ages 10-13) Space is Limited and advanced registration is required by Tuesday July 22nd.

  9. Guided Canoe Trip

    July 26, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ American Chestnut Land Trust

    Depart from Warrior's Rest and enjoy a scenic tour of Parkers Creek. Reservations are required. Canoe trips are physically strenuous, requiring paddling for three hours (frequently against wind and tides), and may require participants to help carry a canoe for up to one-quarter mile over sand to access the creek. Rain date of Sunday, July 27th.

  10. Public Sail Aboard the Dee of St. Mary's

    July 26, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ J.C. Lore Oyster House

    Experience the Patuxent River aboard an historic Chesapeake workboat. Enjoy a two-hour public sail aboard the Dee of St. Mary’s skipjack leaving from the Lore Oyster House. Fee is $25, 12 and up, $15 for children 8 – 12 years. No children under 8 please. Call 410-326-2042, ext. 41 to register. Preregistration required; space is limited.

  11. Kayak Trip

    July 26, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Kings Landing Park

    Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Kings Landing Park as you enjoy a leisurely tour of the Patuxent River and its nearby creeks. Kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are provided. No personal kayaks allowed, unless noted. Participants must be at least 9 years of age to accompany an adult in a double kayak, and at least 12 years old to ride in a single kayak. Those under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations and payment are required in advance. Wear shoes that can get wet and bring water, hat and sunscreen. Location: Kings Landing Park pool parking lot unless noted Space is limited and advanced registration is required.

    Each Monday, the public is invited to a free Monday Memories guided tour of Point Farm, located on Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum in Calvert County. All are welcome to enjoy the memories of Calvert County, the Patterson family, JPPM or those who once worked on the land that is now JPPM. The public is welcome to share stories, or visitors may also simply enjoy the tour and listen to the memories of others. Point Farm was the country retreat of the late Mr. & Mrs. Jefferson Patterson. In 1983 Mrs. Patterson donated the property to the state in honor of her late husband, creating Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum. Join us for a guided tour of this beautiful 1933 Colonial Revival brick house and gardens designed by noted female architects Gertrude Sawyer and Rose Greely.     "Loathsome Lovelies" Fine Art by Jen Poteet The Artworks@7th featured artist for the month of August is Jen Poteet. The artwork of Jen Poteet is the product of an over active imagination and inspired creativity. The inspiration for her unique works of art comes from many sources but for the most part are based in a love of nature, Mexican folk art, and all things dark and spooky. Mix this all together and you get one of kind works rendered in pen, watercolor, acrylic, and even coffee. Jen also likes to use her framing to enhance the paintings thereby creating an overall unique piece. Come and experience something different! The opening reception is Friday, August 1st, 5 - 9 p.m., and on Saturday, August 2nd, there will be an added Special Event with live music from 4 – 6 p.m. If you can’t make either of these events then come by any other time during our normal business hours, the show will run July 31st - August 25.
